Always working in clay, there are an endless varity of processes that could arrive to the finished product. This has got to be the reason that I choose to work in clay! There are endless challenges; as many as I could want to solve, and new solutions that always lead to more possibilities.
Biography: I’m a ceramic artist. I’m working, not waiting for inspiration. Finding myself out of art school, I just began working; ‘not waiting for ideas’ has sort of become my discipline. Through the time I've spent making I've become confident in my ability and creative purpose. Besides ceramics I’m also a figurative renderer. I like working with dance and the nude, as inspiration for ceramic surfaces.
I travel some, when the main firing technique is outdoors; I find and share with other kilns whenever possible. I’ve been to New York, Georgia, Illinois, California, Washington, Oregon, Missouri, Wyoming, Utah, Louisiana; even more that I can’t remember, Michigan, Iowa, Indiana, many cities in China, Korea, and Japan…It is always a great honor to have an opportunity when I have an opportunity to share time and ideas.
Please contact me through this site, or any others I’ve listed. I’ll gladly be available for commissions or any call for artists, my turn around time for commissions is 3 weeks, and a show of up to thirty pieces can be produced within 6 weeks of notification. Ceramics range in price from 350.00- to 2500.00, pieces could be salt glazed or wood fired.
I have up coming shows of thrown and altered ceramics, with some drawings, A series of large hand formed jars with rectangle and squares; they’re very large patio furniture that will be wood fired, and a series of figurative discs for under a thousand dollars. My new works are energetic; the thrown and altered pieces have lots of surface detail. These new works have the kind of energy that illuminates them.
